AEG and Zhangjiagang Foreign Language School set to open a new expanded AIS campus

The Adelaide International School and the Zhangjiagang Foreign Language School (ZFLS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Shanghai to expand AIS in Adelaide, South Australia. The momentous signing was witnessed by Trade and Investment Minister Joe Szakacs and representatives from the SA Department of State Development and Study Adelaide.

AIS is the first in SA to offer Cambridge International GCSE and A-level courses to its domestic and overseas students as an alternative to the SACE program. ZFLS, founded in 1997, is a high quality private bilingual school certified by the International Baccalaureate Organisation. It offers a 15-year bilingual education from kindergarten to high school.

The collaboration and the two institutions' commitment to open a new expanded campus in Adelaide is a significant milestone to welcome more Chinese students to South Australia.

“It is a joy when friends come from afar.”

This enduring truth was affirmed by Mr Noel Misfud, Board Chair of Adelaide International School, speaking on behalf of the Adelaide Education Group. He observed, “It is a long-held belief shared by both China and Australia that genuine success and lasting harmony arise when individuals who share common ideals come together. To collaborate with like-minded partners is both meaningful and deeply rewarding.”

In November, Adelaide International School had the distinct honour of hosting Mr Xu, Principal of Zhangjiagang Foreign Language School (ZFLS), along with his esteemed colleagues. During their visit, a commemorative plaque was unveiled to mark the strengthening of ties between the two institutions. This gesture signified a deepening collaboration as AEG and ZFLS prepared to embark on an exciting joint educational venture in Adelaide from 2025 onwards. Beyond the ceremonial significance, the event reaffirmed the role of education as a powerful instrument for transcending cultural boundaries and fostering international understanding. It represented not only the unity between the two schools but also the broader aspirations of the two nations—to work together in shaping a better world through high-quality, globally-minded education for future generations.
