Newsletter of January

📢 #BABeyond24 Call for Speakers closes 19 January

Hello BA enthusiast

Are you still making New Year's resolutions only to find out it's a struggle to stick with them? Even as a passionate BA professional it can be hard to find the time and energy to further explore your passion with so much other stuff going on. Let's see if we can help you... What are some great ways to learn something new?

👉 Learn by sharing and getting feedback.

👉 Learn by doing and seeing what works and what doesn't.

👉 Have a clear deadline and timeline towards it.

👉 Share and learn together.

Both our annual BA & Beyond Conference and BABOK Study Group offer the opportunity to share and learn through these principles. Which of these learning journeys fits your passion best?

Have a wonderful 2024,

Filip Hendrickx,
IIBA Brussels Chapter President

PS: Our #BABeyond24 Call for Speakers closes Friday, 19 January.

What business analysis ideas and experiences can you share to help your peers grow their skills? Join a global group of BA thought leaders and speakers with your story, now in four countries and in close collaboration with our friends from the IIBA Dutch Chapter.

Our call for speakers is open until Friday, 19 January.

BABOK Study Group: 2024 edition

Event

For the 6th time in a row, we are organising our BABOK Study Group in 2024. Join our case-based, collaborative Study Group and immerse yourself in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge.

Our Study Group approach is based on three principles:

  • Facilitate, present & discuss chapters of the BABOK interactively;
  • Exchange practical experiences between practitioners linked to the chapters discussed;
  • Work in teams and make the BABOK come to life by applying ‘theory’ to real-life cases.

BA tip of the month: The Rock Crusher

Cover of the book The Rock Crusher

The Rock Crusher offers an agile approach to backlog management, highlighting the power and simplicity of this essential tool in modern agile organizations. This new publication emphasizes the importance of the backlog as a single repository from which a team pulls its next most valuable work item, enabling agility through the ability to add, remove, reprioritize, and visualize potential work for a product.

 “Finally, someone has splashed a dose of reality onto the broken flat backlog metaphor! Lots of great concepts and tools here.”

-Jeff Patton, Chief Troublemaker
