The cover of Meditation on Abolition

Dear MK,

Join us for the Black Zine Fair on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11am-6pm at Powerhouse Arts (322 Third Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215). The event is free and open to the public with RSVP!

The BZF is a hybrid fair. Virtual programs are scheduled for the weekends leading up until the in-person fair on May 11, and include a zine reading curated by Zines4Queers, two artist talks by Kandis Williams of CASSANDRA PRESS and Nic Caldwell, and a writing workshop by Darriea Clark of Unblushing Media.

In-person programs include an all-day zine trading station in addition to three workshops featuring zine making, screen printing, and generative writing with Jessica Angima, Jen White-Johnson, and Leslie Diuguid of Du-Good Press.

Exhibitors
include a fire lineup of 50+ zine stars—DIY lovers, indie publishers, printmakers, and artists from NYC, Troy, Montreal, Boston, Providence, Baltimore, Washington DC, Philadelphia, New Haven, Hartford, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa, Los Angeles and Long Beach! Follow the BZF on Instagram to learn more.

With excitement,
Mariame & Neta

Donate to support the fair!

The Black Zine Fair is free and open to the public, although donations are appreciated. We suggest a donation between $5-20 depending on your financial ability. We encourage established professionals and people with intergenerational wealth/savings to donate more or become sustaining members. We’re committed to creating a free platform for Black zine makers who otherwise wouldn’t have access to zine/art/book fairs and festivals. We rely primarily on individual donors to fund and sustain our work. Thank you for supporting us!
