Dear Taylor Families,
I hope the first few days of school are off to a great start. We know there is a lot of national buzz around the November 5 election but did you know the Millbrae School District has a BIG measure on the ballot as well?
Measure J is an important bond measure that our schools need in order to make much needed facilities and infrastructure updates that could NOT happen without funding from a bond.
A few quick facts:
The bond measure would raise $95 million for our school facilities and infrastructure. Previously, the state has funded about 40% of school repairs and construction; this is now 100% the responsibility of school communities! Every student in all our five schools deserve to be in safe, up to date classrooms and school grounds.
We need a 55% YES vote to pass. The district's last attempt to pass this bond in 2022 fell short by just about 70 votes! We have a powerful school community - let’s aim to WIN Measure J for the benefit of our students.
What we need from you:
We cannot stress how important it is to get this bond passed - we cannot make necessary repairs and improvements to our schools without it. Every helping hand and every vote matters.
