European Commission's Work Programme 2026
The European Commission’s 2026 Work Programme, “Europe’s Independence Moment,” presented to the European Parliament on 21 October 2025, sets out legislative priorities for reindustrialisation, internal market integration, defence, and digital sovereignty, alongside efforts to simplify EU regulation (25 legislative withdrawals, one repeal, and three omnibus proposals). EDFA is closely monitoring the legislative initiatives most relevant to fintech and digital finance and will leverage the 2026 Work Programme to plan and coordinate its public affairs and regulatory engagement, ensuring that Europe’s fintech community continues to be effectively represented in key policy dialogues at the EU level.
Bridging Borders: Fintech and Regulators Towards a Unified European Financial Market On 19 November in Paris, EDFA will launch its new Bridging Borders Roundtables - a series designed to connect fintech associations and national supervisors across Europe to foster dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
