| Yes, it's that time of year again for refreshing the community gardens and high street planters with fresh flowering bulbs - little buried parcels of hope to raise our weary spirits as Winter finally turns into Spring next year. And – even more vitally – to provide vital early season nectar for foraging bumble bees as they emerge from hibernation. Their numbers are plummeting with climate change, garden and agricultural pesticides and habitat loss all taking their toll, and they need all the help we can give them. |
All welcome: It's sociable, fun and very worthwhile – and the more of us the merrier, the quicker the job is done, and the sooner a warm up coffee and snack in a local café can be enjoyed together. |
What to bring: If you have them, bring a trowel or bulb planting tool and gardening gloves (but if not we’ll have some spares). We have some lovely bags of bulbs but extra donations are always welcome if you have some going spare. We’re hoping for sunshine, but it will be November, so wrap up warm for an enjoyable morning. |

Joining and Itinerary: Gather for an 11am start at the 'Greening Your Footprint Garden' outside Kentish Town Fire Station in Highgate Road NW5. From here we head to Platform 1 Thames Link Cottage Garden, followed by Kentish Town Neighbourhood Forum’s Big Blue High Street Planters between the Leighton Road and Gaisford Street junctions, ending at Raglan Street Estate Gardens around 1pm. |
