CALL to Action on House Bill 4760! |
|
The following Update is from WREN H. 4760 (Attack on Abortion Medication) has passed the House floor and is now headed to the Senate. H. 4760 would criminalize safe, evidence-based care by misclassifying abortion medication as a controlled substance. These medications are used not only for abortion, but also to treat other health conditions, including cancer and arthritis. WREN believes EVERYONE deserves the freedom to make decisions about their own health, family, and future, without politicians standing in the way. We CANNOT allow this harmful legislation to move forward quietly. Please contact your Senators and urge them to VOTE NO on H. 4760.
PLEASE CALL SEN. GREG HEMBREE today to vote NO on House Bill 4760! Capitol Office - (803) 212-6350 District Office/Home (843) 946-6556 Be sure to tell him you live in his district.
House Bill 3537 is still in committee. |

The Briefing: The SAVE Act and the broader election plot The revived bill is a serious threat to voting rights. |
|
For months, we have warned of a drive by President Trump and his administration to undermine the 2026 election. It is unprecedented, outlandish. Now Trump himself is blaring his intent — and over the past week, the public issue has exploded. The fight for a free and fair vote is taking shape, starting on the floor of the House this week as it once again considers the SAVE Act. Make no mistake: The SAVE Act would stop millions of American citizens from voting. It would be the most restrictive voting bill ever passed by Congress. It is Trump's power grab in legislative garb. |

Reflections from Afar & Near: How Will We Be Judged? |
|
In this issue we share a powerful reflection from Cory, a friend of one of VOICE's founding members, Carol Stigger. Writing from the federal immigration courthouse in San Diego, Cory recounts his encounters with young women recently released from ICE detention and awaiting their immigration hearings.
Through their stories, he describes routine court appearances that resulted in sudden detention, prolonged confinement under harsh conditions, and lasting trauma — even for individuals with no criminal records who had entered the U.S. legally under policies since reversed. Cory reflects on prayer, accompaniment, and the moral responsibility we bear when human dignity is stripped away.
He closes with a sobering question: In one of the wealthiest nations in the world, is this truly the best we can do — and how will history judge our response?
👉 Read the full reflection here-- How Will We Be Judged? Why this matters now The article that follows examines recent federal plans to significantly expand immigration detention facilities across the United States — a development that gives Cory's reflections added urgency. |

Over 70,000 People Detained in 225 Concentration Camps, With Plans to Double Them: Why Isn’t This a National Emergency? |
|
Daily Take
ICE’s nationwide detention system continues to expand under plans that would double its size while shielding it from meaningful accountability… Thom Hartmann Feb 04, 2026 |
|
As people testified before Congress yesterday about the brutality and violence they’d suffered at the hands of ICE, that massive paramilitary organization was shopping for giant warehouse-style facilities they can retrofit into what they euphemistically call “detention centers.”
Cable news people call them “prison camps” or “Trump prison camps,” but look in any dictionary: prisons are where people convicted of crimes are held. As Merriam-Webster notes, a prison is: “[A]n institution for confinement of persons convicted of serious crimes.” |
