IAFST University Opens Up For Membership

About a year ago, a National C Suite gentleman was one of the first individuals to complete an early version of our Work Order module. His participation provided valuable initial feedback that helped guide our development efforts. Since then, both that course and the rest of the training modules have evolved significantly.

We’re now preparing for a beta launch of the full training platform, and I’d like to invite IAFST Members to take the updated Work Order module for a test drive. Your insights would be incredibly helpful as we refine the final product.

The concept behind this initiative is two-fold:

1. Foundational Structure:
The Work Order module serves as the cornerstone for all subsequent training—whether you're an Inspector or a Field Service Technician. From this foundation, users progress through Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master levels. These tiers align with the Credential
Transparency Description Language (CTDL), a framework recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education and Department of Labor. This alignment enables our certifications to be seamlessly integrated into national credentialing systems.

2. Flexible, Industry-Agnostic Training:
While the modules incorporate critical industry data, the training itself is intentionally generic to allow for white labeling by other organizations. For instance, HUD-FHA might define Initial Secure tasks one way, while Clients might require a different scope. Our system accommodates both, enabling customized training delivery to match firm-specific requirements.

You can view our credentialing framework here:  IAFST Credential Framework

Why this matters:

IAFST University is the only platform offering digitally verifiable credentials based on the Credential Engine framework—an open, transparent, and interoperable system that enhances clarity, portability, and trust in certifications. We issue credentials through Canvas Badges, which allows learners to manage all achievements in a secure digital wallet. Whether they’re completing compliance training, disaster inspection modules, or earning credentials in property preservation, their accomplishments are instantly verifiable and tamper-proof.

Available, non-whitelisted, credentials: Canvas Badge Directory

Pricing:

  • $2.95/year if paid by the Client
  • $9.95/year if purchased individually by the Contractor

This low-cost model not only makes certification accessible, but also allows clients to "stress test" newly onboarded contractors—ensuring competency and reducing the likelihood of follow-ups or financial loss. It also helps protect clients from the appearance or risks associated with employee misclassification.

I’m currently seeking feedback on the updated Work Order module and would greatly appreciate your input. If you're willing to participate, I can create a test account for you and send login credentials. Your involvement would remain confidential and protected under a non-disclosure agreement. Simply reply back to this email if you are an IAFST Member and the process and digital certification are FREE for the Work Order Module!

If you are not an IAFST Member yet, why not join today by clicking here and become involved in what we do each and every day!

The IAFST Board of Directors has unanimously approved several benefits for US veterans as well as incentives for joining and renewing IAFST Membership. First, if you are a veteran, simply enter VET25 in the discount code, for a twenty-five percent discount when you sign up.

In addition, we are releasing, later this month, a library reflecting our ongoing White and Position Papers. Simply look in the Menu area at the top of the website under Position Papers. In combination with our educational platform, discussed above, the IAFST is seeking to prepare Industry and cross Industry workers for tomorrow in light of the massive consolidations. These consolidations, which the IAFST monitors, not only pertain to institutional acquisitions of previously private firms, but also the Wild West ongoing in the selling of MSR's which create the very volume in our Industry.
