We filed an updated Article 78 to save public housing in Chelsea from privatisation and demoliton.

On Wednesday, I joined six (6) NYCHA public housing residents living in Chelsea in an Article 78 Petition filed against NYCHA, the City, and Agency and City officials. We sued to put the RAD/PACT privatisation and demolition through the ULURP Process. The ULURP Process is a legally-mandated mechanism for a rigorous, public review of community-crushing real estate development projects, including the disposition of City real property and real estate development projects involving federally-funded public housing.

My opponent is an expert on Land Use issues. Why is he giving a MAGA extremist billionaire an exemption to the ULURP Process ?

As a co-founder of the public housing preservation group, Fight For NYCHA, I've been fighting since 2019 to save NYCHA public housing in Chelsea from privatisation and demolition. During that time, public housing residents have suffered one unlawful privatisation and demolition plan after another. We defeated the first two plans, and we're united to defeat the third !

For six years, I've been fighting to save NYCHA. In that time, I've been a trusted public servant for public housing residents. But like in the corporate world, the privileged White gets the title : Elected Official.

Our Article 78 Petition also asks the Court for a preliminary judicial inquiry into the conduct of Agency and City officials, who seemingly gave MAGA billionaire extremist Stephen Ross an unlawful exemption from the ULURP Process. That's one of the reasons why my opponent and the chair of Manhattan Community Board 4 are named in the lawsuit.
