SMHF Spring News

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.

Image description

Dear W

As we wait for winter to make way for spring, we’ve got plenty happening at SMHF to lift your spirits and chase away the seasonal blues.

This month, we’re hosting an important Signpost Sutton session on Scams and an introductory talk on Autism and ADHD.  Creativity is top of the agenda, with the final Crafternoon with Julie on March 7th, plus we have a clay workshop with Abel on the 10th, and Voyager 81 is out now - available in selected spots in Sutton and beyond, or you can download it from the website.  Then, coming up in April, our highly rated Women's Wellbeing Course is back, led by Tinki Gupta - if you missed it last time we urge you to consider signing up!

Our new 'help with housing' project is out on the Roundshaw estate on Thursdays, and from 9th March it will be popping up at Shanklin Village every other Tuesday every Wednesday on St Helier.  We are working with Citizens advice Sutton - so if you or someone you know lives in those areas and need housing support, or help with money or your well-being do pop in - check out our social media or website for details.

For those looking for a warm space and good company, our Sunday service, In Your Corner, is open every Sunday until 29th March from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. We offer an affordable hot meal, a welcoming space, and friendly conversation for anyone who needs a little extra support.

As you can see, there is loads going on at the moment at SMHF - from exhibitions to boxercise,  fun activities to emotional support.  Please do scroll down and take a look.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

All the best

Lisa, Ovie & the SMHF Team

This exhibition charts the progress of The Sutton Mental Health Community Dye Garden, which has been running for a year now, and is a powerful combination of Peer support, mindfulness practice and growing and stitching.

The Dye Garden offers a unique space for people to talk about their mental health, with the focus of growing plants in order to dye fabric and create beautiful pieces of art and textiles.  The project is inspirational in its vision of how mental health can be supported in the community.

The exhibition runs until 20th June 2026, on days when the museum is open (currently Thursday, Friday, Saturday).  Admission is free.
