Trump, Epstein and the Search for Accountabilty |
|
A recent article in The Hartmann Report raises troubling questions about the lingering secrets surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s network and the protection of powerful figures. What is known is that Donald Trump and Epstein were socially close for years, appearing together at parties and in photos, though Trump now downplays their connection. A woman once accused both men of sexual assault when she was a minor, but that lawsuit was withdrawn and never tested in court. While the Justice Department has released some Epstein-related records showing a wide circle of high-profile contacts, it denies possessing a secret “client list.” Courts have, however, found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation in the E. Jean Carroll cases. Together, these facts highlight the ongoing tension between public suspicion, unproven allegations, and the urgent need for transparency and equal justice under the law. |
