Last Tuesday was the culmination of several weeks of gathering petition signatures to get on the November general election ballot as an independent. If I make the ballot, I'll be running on the Better Ideas ballot line on Nov. 4. I had help from Carl Lundgren from the Bronx Green Party ; Marni Halasa, the Manhattan activist, who is a co-founder of Fight For NYCHA ; and many NYCHA public housing residents. It was a huge group effort, and I am very grateful to them all. This is a campaign of ideas, and I filed to pressure Democrats to save NYCHA. That's what we're doing ! |

Whilst petitioning, I came across examples of why Trump won the election. It was because there's a lot of latent racism all across America, including in District 3. |

I met a man in Chelsea, who told me he could not sign my ballot petition, because he only supported Nazis and Republicans. Another man cursed a Black volunteer after he was asked to sign my ballot petition. One woman living in Penn South began spouting hate when prompted about the plight of NYCHA : She said she has been trying to purge Penn South of low-income tenants receiving Section 8 voucher rental assistance. In another instance, one of my opponent's supporters came up to me and demanded to see what my flyers said about his friend, Erik Bottcher. Once, whilst I was petitioning in the West Village, a man signed my petition only to return to ask to scratch his name off. A volunteer with the DREAM team affiliated with the Working Families Party told me that, notwithstanding Erik Bottcher's support for the RAD/PACT privatisation and demolition of NYCHA public housing, she still supported him, because he was her friend. Trump's election has made it acceptable for New Yorkers to at once claim to be liberal and to also support disparate impact discrimination.

Stephen Ross is the oligarchy we're supposed to fight, not to whom we're supposed to surrender. But somebody forgot to tell Allen Roskoff that. Is Allen Roskoff jockeying to ride on a Trump train, MAGA float in the Pride Parade ? What explains his support to end public housing to benefit Stephen Ross ? More and more, it becomes apparently that the Democratic Party is incapable of standing-up to Trump, because they openly support more and more upward transfers of wealth to MAGA billionaires. |

In The New York Post article, Chelsea Democrats, including Layla Law-Gisiko, deliberately misrepresented the social movement to save public housing as being driven by rich, White ladies living in luxury condos. |

Instead of empowering New Yorkers experiencing displacement and at-risk of homelessness, the Democrats in Chelsea are positioning themselves as the White saviours of NYCHA. |
