| Ahoy Adventurebots! It has been a good field season and now it’s time to compile the interesting things that happened while looking ahead to the new year. |

The season finale took place at the end of September! Thanks to everyone who visited and stopped by. We had 2 participants from the workshops bring their robots to be part of the performance. Plus, they won a new accessory for their robots: feet!

Over the summer we ran a Robot Butterfly workshop in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club South East in their STEM & Robotics Centre! Thanks to support from Awesome Kingston, the workshop was offered at a reduced fee to participants! |

| Robot Butterflies are out and about on adventures!
Jordanne sent in photos of her Robot Butterfly in the Scotland Highlands! Incredible, look at the height of that mountain! The robot looks determined to reach the peak as it takes a break by the stream.

| This quarter’s strategy of selling kits online has been disturbed by two factors: 1) Entry duties to the USA are 35%. More info on the situation is available here 2) National postal service strikes: “In the last year, Canadians and Canadian businesses have been subject to more than 170 days of strike activity” (Source: Canada Post) Lots of effort went in to making this product ready to go, here’s the box if you have not seen it: |

Happening now in the universe at the same time as the Monarch butterfly migration is the Vanessa cardui butterfly migration! These butterflies were tracked from the UK to Africa through an epic citizen science project (Source: University of York). With new tags that use bluetooth, it enables more precise tracking. It’s fascinating to see the tracks of these monarch butterflies (Source: The New York Times). Equally as interesting is the early days of tracking wildlife, the book The Internet of Animals provides exciting background (Source: Max Planck Institute for Animal Behaviour). |

The past few months have been dedicated towards writing several applications. Similar to sending scrolls in glass bottles out into the water and waiting to see which ones will return with good news. Some have already floated back as non-results, but there’s still more to watch for. Stay tuned for what’s in store for 2026!
