Join Alanna Sullivan (mother, educator, and facilitator) for this interactive workshop that offers practical tools for navigating high-tension moments in community spaces, workplaces, and public gatherings.

Drawing from somatics, nonviolent conflict intervention, and trauma-informed practice, participants will learn how to regulate their nervous systems, assess situations clearly, and respond with strategies that reduce harm and prevent escalation. Through discussion, embodied exercises, and realistic scenarios, we will practice ways to de-escalate conflict, intervene when necessary, and support the well-being of those most impacted.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

     • How to read escalating conflict and understand threat

     • Grounding tools for staying calm under stress

     • Nonviolent intervention strategies: distraction, direct communication,

       delegation, and more

     • Scenario-based practice for real-world application

A Poem of Peace and Wsdom:

Without

The world will keep trudging through time without us

When we lift from the story contest to fly home

We will be as falling stars to those watching from the edge

Of grief and heartbreak

Maybe then we will see the design of the two-minded creature

And know why half the world fights righteously for greedy masters

And the other half is nailing it all back together

Through the smoke of cooking fires, lovers’ trysts, and endless

Human industry—

Maybe then, beloved rascal

We will find each other again in the timeless weave of breathing

We will sit under the trees in the shadow of earth sorrows

Watch hyenas drink rain, and laugh.
