Dec 7th "This is no drill" - The Tiger Wings Kickstarter is Now Live! |
Take to the air, with thrilling (and realistic) air combat in early WW2, using the "Fighting Wings" System. Tiger Wings takes us to Burma, Malaya, the Dutch East Indies, and--yes-- China, for the Flying Tigers. You'll enjoy the challenge of pitting the P-40 against the Zero, but you'll also learn the strengths and weaknesses of lessor-known planes, like the "Oscar," "Nate," and "Nick" fighters versus the "Hawk," the P-35, and--yes-- even some "Buffalo" fighters (very different from what the Finns were using!). Visit our Kickstarter campaign to pledge by clicking on the image below. |

Climb into the cockpit with us, and take off with TIGER WINGS! |

About Kickstarter - We know not everyone is familiar with Kickstarter, but it is a proven platform. If a project fails to make its baseline funding level, the "backers" are never charged for it. ATO has had four previous Kickstarter projects and delivered on all of them. You can find more information in the "FAQ" portion of the page on our Kickstarter. By the way, our project is now funded by over 200% (almost 300%!) and has added a lot of extra content (called "Stretch Goals") to the game. We expect to add a LOT more! |

Repeating Our Black Friday Offer |
The month of December marks some grim milestones during WW2. To help remember the awesome events in the various Decembers across those years, we have some fun freebies for anyone making a purchase at our site. There are some rules: - Spend $45.00 or more (any previous orders are excluded), and;
- Order between now and through Dec. 24th, and;
- You can’t pick items that are out of print, or in Pre-order or Endangered Species status), and;
- While supplies last, get your choice of a free copy of:
1.) The Hunt for the Graf Spee After war broke out in 1939, throughout the remainder of the year the most pressing problem for the Allied navies was to hunt down and destroy the German surface raider, Graf Spee. This "pocket battleship" was too quick to catch by the heavy ships, and too powerful to engage by lighter forces alone...this mini-game shows how it was trapped by December 1939. |
2.) Balck Friday– No, not a typo. The disaster of Stalingrad and Manstein's relief effort get all the headlines. But on Christmas Day 1942 (a Friday) German General Hermann Balck and his crack 11th Panzer Division were called upon to stop a Soviet tank probe, far to the west of and deep behind, the porous German lines. The thrust aimed at knocking out the German airfield at Tatsinkaya supplying the Stalingrad Pocket. ATO spotlights Balck’s remarkable efforts with this complete game. With 100 die cut counters, a full color 8.5” x 11” map and just 4 pages of rules, you'll be able to explore this one shining exploit during a very “dark December” for the Axis. |
3.) The Peiper Dream - While the 1st SS Panzer Division was the spearhead for the German offensive at the Battle of the Bulge in Dec. 1944, the tip of the spear was Kampfgruppe Peiper, a hodgepodge organization that was, for its size, the strongest unit in the entire battle. Their job was to punch a narrow hole through the Allied formations, all the way to the Meuse River bridges. Their tools included a full battalion of gigantic "Tiger 2" or "Royal Tiger" tanks, backed by Panthers and virtually every other top weapon the Panzerarmee could field. This set of four individual Pocket Battle Games (that combine into a long strip of games), it might be the best look at the key scenes of the Bulge. |
To indicate your choice, place the order and then write SPEE or BALCK or PIEPER in the Comments field on the order form. No extra codes or buttons to push. |
Yes, now you can collect all our Pocket Battle Games complete with die-cut counters that make them even more special with just one easy purchase. We call it "The PBG Brick" - both for its impressive appearance and its foundational role in building up anyone's game collection. It’s like a pocket full of miracles… and games to match. |

And Our Very Special Offer |
Get 1 Over (on Steve!) – We’re 3 years into our 5 year plan to wind things down. There’s more to retiring the business gently however, than just not answering the phone or e-mails one day. Contracts have to be fulfilled, vendors paid off, and a home for the inventory found. To make this last concern a little easier, starting now, until our final day of being in business we are offering the special Get 1 Over offer. When you purchase one of our PICK 3 or BIG PICK 2 packages, you can select one additional regular ziplock magazine issue for free! So the offers become PICK 4 and BIG PICK 2 + 1 issue offers. There are some rules on this of course. Any previous orders are excluded. You can’t pick an issue that is out of print, or in Pre-order or Endangered Species status, or the Expanded version of any issue. You will also need to enter the promo code GET1 in the promo code field and hit “Apply”. Indicate your free pick choice by typing the title or issue number in the Comments Field on the order form. |
