It resonated quite a bit with me, perhaps because I used a variation of the obscene reduction of existence to "meat and electricity" in Saturnine Saturday, perhaps because there have been very few people who have been able to make math palatable to me.
Sadly, I remain better at making music than money, so if you have the means and are feeling generous with currency or presence this season, I'd love to make an exchange with you. Attention is an acceptable form of payment if times are tough. I love shows of appreciation, whether cash or applause.
Or flowers. I do adore flowers.
And small shiny objects. There's a chance I may be part raven.
Anyway, I have two appearances coming up rather quickly!
About a year ago, I had the pleasure of being one of the inaugural performers of the Chosen Family Songwriter Circle, alongside host Cody Riker and queen of coastal country, Olivia Lyon. We'll be reuniting at the Rose City Book Pub tonight, joined by a variety of this year's Chosen Family, for the first anniversary show in benefit of the Marie Equi Center. 🌈 Music starts at 7pm!
I'm super stoked to play an hour long set at Kells Brewery starting at 5pm on Wednesday (Thanksgiving Eve) ahead of Johnny Franco and His Real Brother Dom, for the NW 21st Poultry Slam Bazaar Crawl put on by Rumble in the Jumble. These bazaar crawls are super fun and Kells is already all decked out for the holidays. Help your local economy thrive by buying your Solstice gifts from a local artist or small business! 💝 It seems likely that this will be my last significant public performance this year, so I'd love for you to come out and say hi!
