New Resource: AI Use by ACAHM-Accredited Institutions and Programs

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into higher education, ACAHM-accredited schools and programs are encouraged to provide students, faculty, and staff with clear, consistent guidelines for its use. Establishing thoughtful institutional policies supports both academic integrity and responsible innovation.

ACAHM has published a resource on AI use that includes helpful links and considerations for institutions developing their own AI policies. The post highlights key frameworks from leading higher education organizations to support policy development.

Election of Two New Commissioners

The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) is pleased to announce the election of two new Commissioners: Dr. Patricia M. Casello-Maddox, DC, MBA, MOM, L.Ac., and Dr. Dennis R. Moseman, D.C., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM). Each brings distinct expertise to ACAHM, the nationally recognized accrediting agency of programs in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (AHM) and institutions exclusively providing AHM-related programs.

Help Us Spread the Word

Public comment periods are a vital part of ACAHM's standards development and revision process, ensuring that accreditation requirements reflect the needs and perspectives of the entire acupuncture and herbal medicine education community. Calls for public comment are distributed through this newsletter to keep accredited institutions and programs informed of opportunities to provide input.

We encourage you to forward these newsletters to colleagues, faculty, administrators, practitioners, students, and other community members who may have valuable perspectives to share. Feedback is requested from any interested party—not just accredited institutions—because diverse viewpoints strengthen our standards and benefit the entire field.

If you know someone who should receive these important communications, please invite them to subscribe at https://www.acahm.org/contact. Your help in expanding our reach ensures that ACAHM's accreditation standards continue to serve the community effectively

ACAHM Holiday Office Hours

ACAHM's office will be closed for the holidays from Wednesday, December 24, 2025, through Thursday, January 1, 2026, and will reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026. During this period, staff will not be available by phone or email, and routine accreditation and administrative inquiries will be addressed when the office reopens. Institutions and programs are encouraged to plan ahead for any time-sensitive requests that may be affected by this closure.

Thank you for your understanding and continued collaboration with ACAHM. The Commission and staff wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
