5 Smart Steps to Prep Your Raleigh Yard for Fall—With Copperhead Safety in Mind

Image description

Get ahead of the season while keeping your outdoor space safe and beautiful.

1. Clear Out Leaf Litter & Debris

Fallen leaves may look charming, but they create cozy hiding spots for copperheads. Rake regularly, especially around woodpiles, stone borders, and garden beds.

2. Trim Back Overgrown Shrubs & Ground Cover

Dense vegetation near your home or walkways can harbor snakes and other critters. Keep bushes tidy and low to reduce cover and improve visibility.

3. Seal Up Gaps & Store Firewood Properly

Stack firewood at least 20 feet from your home and elevate it off the ground. Copperheads love quiet, undisturbed places—don’t give them one.

4. Aerate & Fertilize Your Lawn

Fall is prime time for lawn care in Raleigh. Aeration helps roots breathe, and a slow-release fertilizer sets the stage for lush spring growth.

5. Stay Alert During Dusk & Dawn

Copperheads are most active during cooler twilight hours. If you're gardening or walking pets, wear closed-toe shoes and use a flashlight to scan your path.

🍁 A little prep now means a safer, more serene yard all season long. Stay cozy—and cautious!

🌿 Landscaping Watch: Help Us Keep It Green!

Our community’s landscaping—especially in common areas, around the townhomes, and at neighborhood entrances—is cared for by our professional landscaping team. If you notice any issues like overgrown spots, broken irrigation, damaged signage, or struggling plants, just send a quick email to the HOA so we can follow up. Your observations help keep our shared spaces healthy, welcoming, and well-maintained!

We appreciate your attention to these important updates and thank you for helping us keep the community running smoothly!

Caring for our homes.

A little upkeep goes a long way!

As a neighborhood, we take great pride in our homes—whether they’re cozy stand-alone houses or shared townhome buildings filled with character and community. With summer in full swing, it’s a great time for a quick self-check to help us keep everything in tip-top shape!

For townhome residents, your HOA dues include exterior maintenance like the roof, siding, fences, and other building elements. While we don’t conduct regular inspections, we rely on your keen eyes and neighborly spirit to help us stay ahead of potential issues.

If you notice something that needs repair, like peeling paint, damaged trim, or roofing concerns, please take a moment to snap a few photos and email them to the HOA. This proactive approach helps us prioritize maintenance and protect the long-term value of your home—and the neighborhood as a whole.

We know everyone’s busy, so thank you for taking the time to look after your property and share any concerns. Small steps like these keep our community strong, safe, and looking its best.

Warm regards,
Your HOA Team

Trash & Recycling

Image description

Knowing the rules helps everyone!

Following Raleigh’s trash and recycling policies is essential for a clean and healthy community. Proper waste disposal prevents litter, pests, and diseases, ensuring a safer environment. Recycling conserves resources and reduces landfill waste, promoting sustainability. When everyone follows these guidelines, it fosters community pride and helps the city manage waste efficiently, benefiting all residents.
