| | Training with LifeNet NY Enhances Air Medical Coordination |
Last month, MREMS participated in a hands-on training night alongside LifeNet of New York’s helicopter-based EMS crew, strengthening coordination and readiness for complex emergencies across our region. |
| |
| |
| | The LifeNet team provided an overview of their operations and capabilities, along with important guidance on maintaining safe operations around helicopters. Crews also had the opportunity to tour the aircraft, ask questions, and build a better understanding of landing zone coordination and working effectively with air medical partners. After the helicopter demonstration, MREMS members transitioned into a scenario-based training focused on an entrapped farm worker. This exercise emphasized scene management, interagency coordination, and the unique challenges these incidents can present in rural environments.
This training was valuable for all participants and offered newer members a strong introduction to working alongside air medical crews in real-world situations. We thank LifeNet New York and the Air Methods crew for taking the time to train with our team and support ongoing readiness in Addison County.
