Dear Friend,

If you're reading this... hooray! By some miracle, I've been able to make it into your inbox. The last couple of issues, my analytics have reported a significant drop in readership, and speaking personally to a couple of regular readers has suggested that these newsletters are either going to spam or completely undelivered. Research hasn't really resulted in anything particularly actionable, short of starting from scratch, or going the old BCC route. But if I sent out a vanilla blind carbon copy email, unless you were to respond to me personally, I'd have no clue either way if my letter got to you. Alas.

If you're wondering where I've been, the answer is: out in the world, but also probably in the mysterious workings of your email filters. I've started publishing a public Google calendar, so you can add my events directly to your calendar, if you want.

Last month, I had a lovely time doing my jazz-leaning set opening for the After Dark Cabaret at the Alberta Street Pub. A couple days later, I played the Williams Bazaar Crawl, slinging original jazz-damaged alt-rock sprinkled with geriatric millennial pop covers at two different bars in the same night. The later bar gig somehow resulted in my playing bass for Holly Bell at the Haymaker, last Friday, who opened up for another wicked solo bassist, Starmachine. Impeccable performer but also just a really cool dude.

Sunday morning, I was on the Shady Pines Radio show "Do I Know You?" with Robb Westlund and Adam Bourret, and I performed a mesmerising new tune, and a flirty old one.

Tomorrow, Rocky and I will be doing the early show at Covert, this time with Holly Bell opening. While we're still playing a couple more shows together through the summer, this will likely be the last one in the song exchange format. Also I promised my probably three whole radio listeners that I'd finally pick a title for the mesmerising new song and I'd reveal it at the show. Also also, I have AN EVEN NEWER SONG I plan to debut. Plus, Sister Sigh is playing the late show. So you should just come make a night of it.

Hope to see you there! If not, mark your calendars because I'll be hitting the Haymaker with Tyler Berd on the 30th.

Be well!
