PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE July was another GREAT month for the Howard Suamico Optimist Club. We were enlightened by our Speaker from the HER Alliance https://www.heralliance.org/about-us and our own Bob Chambers gave us a lot of coin knowledge. It looks like the penny is NOT going to make it, but time will tell. Also, thanks to everyone that donated toilet paper to Pat’s residents at Fort Howard Apartments – it was truly appreciated.
August is shaping up to be just as active. The August 11th meeting we will have the Howard Executive Director of Community Development, Dave Wiese, give us the low down on the major projects planned for Howard – bring your questions.
August 25th will prove to be a very exciting meeting. We will be drawing for the two (2) badges to the “MAGIC AT THE MASTERS” Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia . This is the most watched Golf Tournament in Pro Golf. This is a high profile raffle drawing. Tickets to the Masters are almost impossible to get. Two tickets can be bought on the resale market for between $10,000 to $17,000 for a day. WOW!! The winner will be able to pick the day they would like to go in 2027 or 2028. There will be ONLY 200 tickets sold. Tickets sell at $100 a ticket. Even if you are not interested in golf, the odds are pretty good and if you win, the return would be worth every dollar. We will be talking about this opportunity for our Club all August. Time on this one very short. We only have little under 3 weeks to sell 200 tickets. If you talk it up, the word will get out and this fundraiser will be the best we have ever had. So, let’s get behind this and talk it up now.
HELP! This requires everyone to work at this one by selling NOW! Where else can you invest, and if you win (odds are good), get a GREAT return and at the same time help youth in the Community?
See you at the meetings, Don Snyder President, Howard/Suamico Optimist’s Club |

MEETING WRAP UP
Tuesday July 14th
We had a great turnout on July 14th, with 14 members in attendance. Our featured speaker, Kasia Klaus with HER Alliance, shared information on her career and the amazing work HER Alliance does for women trafficked in our community
HER Alliance is a Green Bay-based nonprofit dedicated to ending commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking in our community. Launched in May 2025 as an evolution of the former Awaken Wisconsin, the organization focuses its efforts specifically on the unique challenges facing Wisconsin, from urban centers to rural areas.
Its mission centers on three pillars: empowering survivors of exploitation, preventing trafficking through education, and fostering healing through strong, collaborative partnerships with local service providers, law enforcement, and community members. HER Alliance believes lasting change happens when communities lead the way, so it prioritizes survivor voices and local leadership in shaping its work.
The organization offers direct support through a "Get Help" line for trafficking survivors, welcomes community members to volunteer, and relies on donations to fund pathways toward freedom, healing, and hope for those affected. Become involved by donating at: https://www.heralliance.org/form-donate.
Tuesday, July 28th
Our Social Hour and Dinner Meeting was fun and informative as usual. This meeting was all about MONEY!
Coins to be exact.
Bob Chambers and guest Melissa LuMaye, the Nicolet Coin Club, treated us to a fascinating look at the history of the US Mint, sharing stories and rare pieces that had everyone leaning in and checking there pocket change. We all made money as well. Bob handed out freshly minted $.50 pieces! We had 18 attendees, including Bob and his guest — another great turnout with great food and awesome conversation.
Thank you Bob!

Now lets talk Queen of Hearts! On July 14th Seth Deuman AGAIN pulled but alas it was the 9 of Hearts. Seth's loss is our gain!
On July 28th, Diane Koertge had the winning number and gave it a good go! But as luck would have it no cash handed out.
With only 13 cards left in the deck, now is the time to attend and try your luck... |

A Chance to Experience the Magic of the Masters There are sporting events, and then there is The Masters. Walking the grounds of Augusta National, witnessing the tradition, beauty, and unforgettable moments that make this tournament legendary, is a dream for golf fans and bucket-list travelers alike. Many describe it as one of the most magical experiences in sports. For just $100, you can support local youth programming while securing your chance to win a trip for two to the 2027 or 2028 Masters Tournament for any one tournament day. With only 200 tickets available, the odds are incredibly limited, making this a rare opportunity to be part of something special. Every ticket directly supports youth in our community, helping provide programs, opportunities, and experiences that make a lasting impact. At the same time, you'll have a chance to create memories of your own at one of the world's most iconic sporting events. Support youth. Take your shot at Augusta.
