| | Hello and welcome to this week's issue of the Wye Organic newsletter.
It cooled down a bit towards the end of the week, making it a bit easier to work in the polytunnels! The livestock were grateful for the cloud coverage as it gave them some respite from the beating sun. We are hoping that we see some rain over the weekend as our grasslands are desperately in need of a drink!
This week, we want to tell you: Venison is officially back in stock! We have a great offer on one of our most popular summer products that two cheeky monkeys have been spotted amongst the Amaranth! We are welcoming in an old 'New' favourite... What veg you can buy from us next week what will be in next week's boxes and what we've been cooking recently!

| | The season we can hunt deer starts tomorrow, which means that by the time we prepare your orders, venison will be back on our website! We have a very large herd on the estate, so expect to see offers coming your way soon...

| | Welcoming an old favourite |

Out with the old, in with the New Zealand Spinach!
Up until this week, you have received Perpetual spinach in your boxes and orders. We have now bid a fond farewell to that variety, as it has all been harvested. "What is the difference?" we hear you ask? Lots. Perpetual spinach is like chard and grows upright, whereas NZ spinach grows as a low, sprawling, succulent-like bush with thick, triangular, dark-green leaves that spread widely across the ground.
It varies in its taste too. NZ spinach features a slightly stronger, sometimes earthy flavour. It contains high levels of oxalic acid too so is best enjoyed blanched, steamed, or cooked rather than eaten raw. |
