Remaining Schedule Updated

I have filled out the remaining part of the schedule. If this coming Tues is postponed, we will push it to the following week, overwriting the schedule for 8/18.


I tried to re-use the weeks at the beginning part of the schedule, with teams playing the opposite nine holes. I was mostly successful with that. I also made a couple of swaps so no teams should be playing each other three times. Please let me know of any questions.

The episode for Aug 7th discusses the average number of fairways hit when a 10 Index (HDCP) plays really well vs when they play really poorly. There are no "official" fairways on Par 3 holes, so almost all courses have 14 fairways for they have two Par 3's on each Nine.

Play Really Well - 7.1 fairways

Play Really Poor - 6.3 fairways


That is less than 1 fairway difference between really good and really bad rounds. The difference comes from what happens on those missed fairways - i.e. penalty shots (water, out of bounds, etc.) and recovery shots (under trees, really thick rough, etc). It is so important to keep the ball out of trouble!

A shameless plug for the upcoming Fox Cities Curling Golf Outing! That is the sister organization to the Appleton Curling Club of which I am the president and four people from our golf league are members (and another is a sub). We are looking for a few players to fill out a team. If interested let me know!

ScoreCards

If you are playing your round at a different time, please send your opponent (and me) a picture of your scorecard. Appreciate those that have done so already this season. I would not give it to anyone working in the pub for they have been misplaced in the past. There is a bulletin board as you enter the pub from the pro shop that has our Schedule & Standings sheet. Feel free to slip your scorecard into that holder. There used to be a folder to place cards into, but it seems that was removed after last season.


FYI - It seems that if you try to play only the Back Nine on the weekend, the course permits that one weekend a month. Please be aware of that, or plan to play 18 that day.
