To the Colorado Alpenglow community,
After four amazing competitive seasons, the Colorado Alpenglow will not participate in the 2027 season. To put it simply: due to rising costs of our most impactful expenses and diminishing personnel support, we are unable to confidently have the funds and resources to commit to the 2027 WUL Season.
This isn't a farewell message. Our organization's goal is to return in 2028 fiscally and organizationally stronger than ever before.
Our goals during our pause are:
1) Work with accountancy and legal advisory to explore converting from our current LLC status to a nonprofit, along with securing enough investor support to vote for this conversion.
2) Obtain monetary pledges from new and former sponsors and investors to ensure long-term financial security
3) Realign our organizational structure to place people according to their skillsets, rather than filling positions with bodies
4) Shore up our knowledge management practices to ensure our onboarding and offboarding processes are secure
5) Attend/host multiple community events to showcase Colorado talent and actively participate in our community.
What we need from you:
1) Continue to share and read our newsletter for updates on our season reentry.
2) Become more involved, or share a referral you have in the legal, accountancy, business, website/social media and marketing fields.
This cannot be overstated. We really need specifically skilled managers who can help us take our team and organization to the next level.
3) Donate generously, and work with your employee match program, when the call for donations comes.
Our organization cannot be sustainably fueled just by passion and talent. We need people with specific skills, and financial path forward to help make the 2028 season a success.
