A Taste of Harmony: Celebrating Cultures, Birthdays, and Community Across AEG

The rich cultural diversity of Adelaide Education Group (AEG) was on full display as staff across our Adelaide and Melbourne campuses came together for a special Taste of Harmony celebration. Colleagues from Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), Adelaide Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT), Adelaide International School (AIS), International English Language Centre (IELC), Adelaide Research Institute (ARI), and AEG Corporate Services shared favourite dishes from their cultural backgrounds while also celebrating our May and June birthday celebrants. The event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with colleagues, learn about different cultures, and enjoy the food and traditions that make our community so unique.

Adding to the festivities was the launch of the AEG Cookbook, A Taste of Harmony, a collection of recipes contributed by staff from across the Group. More than just a cookbook, it is a celebration of the people, cultures, and stories that make up the AEG family. The shared meal, birthday celebrations, and cookbook launch highlighted the strong sense of community that exists across our campuses and reminded us that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.

Hainan College of Foreign

Studies Visit

AEG is pleased to announce that both AIHE and the AIBT have signed an agreement with Hainan College of Foreign Studies (HNCFS), a well-established institution founded in 1947 and now home to more than 9,000 students. This milestone further strengthens educational ties between Australia and China and reflects our shared commitment to international collaboration and global learning opportunities.

The agreement follows the HNCFS delegation's visit to our Melbourne and Adelaide campuses, where they experienced AEG's integrated education ecosystem and engaged with colleagues across our institutions. Through this partnership, AIHE, AIBT, and HNCFS will explore opportunities in student pathways, academic collaboration, faculty engagement, and future joint initiatives that will benefit students and staff across all three institutions. We look forward to building a strong and enduring relationship that creates meaningful global opportunities and further advances AEG's commitment to international education.

ICT Careers: Opportunities

and Expectations

AIBT recently hosted an insightful guest speaker session on building a successful career in Australia’s IT industry, featuring Mustafa Kadir, Managing Director and Career Coach of Visgrow Internships and Chair of the Australian Computer Society.

Mustafa shared valuable industry insights into the opportunities available within the technology sector and highlighted the key skills employers are looking for in today’s graduates. He emphasised that while education provides a strong foundation, long-term success also depends on communication skills, interpersonal abilities, professional networking, and gaining real-world experience.

Students were encouraged to take initiative early—build connections, seek industry exposure, and develop workplace-ready skills alongside their studies. The session served as a strong reminder that success in ICT goes beyond technical knowledge and is equally driven by adaptability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

at Mt Lofty

Last May, the Year 12 class took part in an exciting adventure day at the Mt Lofty Adventure Hub in the Adelaide Hills, accompanied by three AIS staff members. Students travelled to the Woodhouse Activity Centre in Crafers, where they were welcomed by the team from Venture Corporate Recharge and prepared for a day of challenges and teamwork.

The activities focused on developing important skills for Year 12 success, including communication, problem-solving, initiative, and leadership. Students participated in group challenges that tested their ability to collaborate and think creatively, followed by a Go-Kart building and racing activity that encouraged teamwork and strategic thinking.

The day concluded with a High Ropes course, where students learned the importance of trust, support, and teamwork while safely navigating the course and practising belaying techniques. Many students challenged themselves by overcoming their fear of heights, with some completing the exciting 8-metre Leap of Faith jump.

It was a rewarding and memorable experience that helped strengthen relationships within the cohort, building confidence and resilience as students continue their Year 12 journey.
