Hello Monastery friends, we hope this July newsletter finds you managing to keep cool during this steamy start to summer! As summer temperatures seem to climb a little higher each year, we're more grateful than ever for the fine Victorian architecture of E.W. Pugin's Great Nave. Those sturdy walls and lofty ceilings bless us with a sense of coolness and calm, a welcome contrast to the baking concrete and hot tarmac of today's modern, urban environment.

This month, we're delighted to welcome Mentell Charity into their new home, here in the Monastery offices. We're happy to share our beautiful space with such a great team doing work we so warmly support. Mentell's men's circles provide a quiet lifeline to the men folk in our communities, tap here to find out more about their work.

Throughout July, the Monastery continues to brim with a carefully curated collection of special events, wellbeing activities, community connection and opportunities to explore, relax, recharge and enjoy this remarkable heritage space.

Historical Talks & Tours

Manchester Monastery Tours

Each Monday brings our ever-popular Taste of the Monastery Tour, when expert guide, Grahame, explains the Monastery's incredible history, from the mid 1800s to the present day, covering the building's original construction, subsequent ruin and current restoration. There are two sessions to choose from, either mornings or afternoons.

Head down the rabbit hole with resident Franciscan scholar, Gill Harbach, for a fascinating, bi-monthly Hidden in Plain Sight Tour of the Monastery, with tours on the first Tuesday and last Sunday of each month

Or take a deep dive into one of Gill's monthly workshops, where she expands on a range of esoteric subjects. This month, choose from Grounding: Living Life in Balance, an introductory Earth Energy, Ley Lines and How to Dowse for Them workshop, or The Enlightenment group.
