| | As July continues to turn up the summer heat outside, we are cultivating fresh creative offerings for you inside the gallery. If you've been looking for the perfect excuse to step out of the sun and into a cool, inspiring oasis, we have just the thing for you!
This month, a brand-new exhibition is in full bloom and ready for you to explore, alongside our giant community garden collage which is growing by the day. We are also tending to some fantastic learning opportunities with a very special artist-led workshop, and a truly rare chance to step behind the scenes and visit a working artist's studio.

We are thrilled to welcome the wonderfully talented Rachelle Francis to the gallery this month! She will be hosting two hands-on textile workshops for young creatives aged 5 to 16, and centred around the making of giant couture buttons. |

| | CHANGE: A Young Artists' Group Exhibition |

Our new exhibition is officially open! This collection brings together incredible artwork created by young artists from our recent youth club art classes with BigKid Foundation, alongside inspiring pieces sent in from our latest community open call. Centred around the theme of CHANGE, we were once again blown away by how thoughtfully and uniquely our young creatives tackled the topic.
The exhibition opened its doors last week, and our hearts are so full. We are incredibly grateful to all the talented young artists, families, and friends who gathered together and brought such vibrant, sunny energy to the launch.
If you missed the opening celebrations, don't worry; there is still plenty of time to wander through the gallery as the exhibition runs until the 18th of July 2026. So please, do come by, soak up the art, and don't forget to lend your own green fingers to our giant community garden collage while you're here! |

We are incredibly honoured to announce that Space to Dream Gallery has been invited to visit the studio of the renowned artist, Sir Frank Bowling, on the 16th of July, between 17.00 and 18.00. This is a truly remarkable opportunity for our students to step inside a professional creative space, see a working studio in action, and gain invaluable inspiration. |

Originally from British Guiana, present-day Guyana, Sir Frank Bowling is one of the most celebrated abstract painters of our time. He is renowned for his vibrant use of colour, light, and texture across a career spanning over six decades. | | As you may have heard, Brixton's markets are once again under threat, with Brixton Village and Brixton Market Row up for sale and marketed for £50 million. The heart of our community is at risk of being sold to another private equity firm, which will mean higher rents, evictions and closures, and the further erosion of a culture that has been shaped by multiple generations of Brixton residents and independent traders.
We are 100% behind the #buybackbrixton campaign organised by the Brixton Traders Community Association and the Advocacy Academy to bring Brixton's markets into community ownership.
Although the bidding is now closed and we are currently waiting for an update on the situation, there is still plenty we can do to support the campaign. Please, clink on the link bellow for ways to be informed and get involved.

| | Our Next Exhibition:
We are currently working with two local schools, delivering a programme of art classes over several weeks, exploring different techniques and materials on canvas. We will be exhibiting the amazing work produced during these sessions and we would absolutely love to see you all for the opening, on the 25th of July.
Summer Drop-in Sessions:
We will be running free weekly art sessions during the summer holidays so make sure to bring your young artists along for lots of creative fun! And keep an eye on our socials for more info. |
