| | Dear Chief Instructors, Sensei's and Karate family,
Yesteday we had some trouble with our newsletter and a not so perfect version was sent to you. Our apologies! So Mo Ichi Do! Let's see if we can do it better this time.
We are in the final stages of preparing for the European Gasshuku 2026! The information booklet is being printed, the goodie bags are being packed, and we are putting the finishing touches on the training schedules. It is a lot of work, but it will absolutely be worth it. We are now on our way to 350 participants—an amazing milestone! And there is still room for more enthusiastic karateka. So, encourage those members of your dojo who are still undecided or who have not made plans for the last week of July yet. Invite them to join us in Wageningen, the Netherlands, where they will train, be inspired, make new friendships, and enjoy an unforgettable week together with our worldwide IOGKF Karate family.
Unfortunately, Sensei Britt Knude-Krogager had to cancel her contribution to the European Gasshuku as an instructor. She was not aware that her daughter was having a beautiful and meaningful life moment, right around the time of the European Gasshuku. Around that time her daughter will give birth to a next generation karateka. We will continu the EG26 with 11 teachers.
We can't wait to welcome you all to Wageningen for an unforgettable week of training, friendship, inspiration and traditional Goju-Ryu Karate.

Training groups
Currently we have 9 groups, consisting of approximately 25 - 40 persons in each group. Grades are currently divided as follows: 10th - 6th kyu, 5th/4th kyu, 3th/2nd/1st kyu, 1st dan, 2nd dan, 3th dan 4th dan, 5th dan, 6th/7th/8th dan. Each sensei will teach each group at least 1 time. |

Packed Lunch Pre-Order
Pre-order your packed lunch before 11 July 2026. Please note: It will not be possible to purchase lunch at the training venue during the week. Either pre-order your lunches or bring your own food each day. Your lunch package includes five freshly prepared packed lunches at an affordable price. The menu will vary throughout the week. You can choose from: During the registration process you can also let us know about any allergies or special dietary requirements.

Workshops
Following the daily training sessions, we've organised a number of inspiring workshops on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Black Belt Grading
The Black Belt Grading will take place on: Wednesday, 29 July 2026
Training Room 3 (upstairs)
14:30 – 17:30 The exact grading times will be announced during the Gasshuku. Please follow the grading procedure carefully. Only participants who have been nominated by their Chief Instructor are eligible to grade. Chief Instructors are responsible for ensuring that candidates meet all grading requirements and have been fully informed about the examination process. Please use the official application form:
REQUEST FOR IOGKF DAN REGISTRATION – Rev. 12/2021 Upon arrival at Registration, hand your completed form and grading fee (in an envelope) to the registrar at the Grading Desk. Please bring the exact grading fee, as change will not be available. The registrar will check both the application form and payment in the presence of the candidate and/or Chief Instructor before confirming receipt.
