Rescheduled Advisor Zoom Session:

Our first Advisor focused Zoom session has been rescheduled for September 23rd at 3:30pm. I hope you will join me to learn about membership and benefits, integrating SkillsUSA into the classroom, and our Fall Leadership Conference. Connect on Zoom here.

Fall Leadership Conference

Our 2026 Fall Leadership Conference is Tuesday, November 10 at the Lansing Center. Lunch will be provided.

 

Registration opens today, September 11 and closes on Tuesday, October 13th. Registration instructions and the link are posted here.

 

All participants should bring at least one non-perishable food item to the conference to use during the Food Sculpture Session and items will be donated to a charitable organization post-conference.

 

New this year! The State Officer team has selected a community service project this year to donate personal hygiene products as well. They will put these items together during a designated workshop. Please bring some of the following items:

·         Body wash- travel size

·         Bar soap

·         Shampoo-travel size

·         Conditioner-travel size

·         Toothbrush/toothpaste

·         Deodorant-mens and womens

·         Travel-size perfume/cologne

The Road to Competition

Intent to Compete

You must complete the Intent to Compete form by November 1st if your students plan to compete this year!  We use the data to determine which contests will be held at both the Regional and State Conference levels.  It is essential to indicate all competitions you and/or your school would like to participate in.

Technical Committee Planning Meetings

You’re invited! I am currently planning our Technical Committee Meetings for this October. Linked here you can find out when those meetings will take place. Feel free to join any applicable meetings to find out more about a competition or bring an industry partner to get involved.

·         Early Childhood Education

Advisor Information:

This year your advisor information, Code of Ethics, Intent to Compete, and Lead Advisor information will all be submitted via online forms. Please be on the lookout for emails from [email protected] with these forms in the next weeks! We appreciate your assistance in updating our records in a timely manner.


All lead advisors will be mailed the SkillsUSA Michigan Advisor Manual along with several posters. There have been several updates to the Advisor Manual and I look forward to hearing your feedback on its continual improvement.


All non-lead advisors will be mailed a Calendar and Road to Competition poster to hang in classrooms. If you wish to download the Advisor Manual, it will be found on our website.
