Spells, Smoke and the Changing Seasons
Fall has arrived at here on the Farm, and the seasonal shift is in full swing.
Since my July update, we've traded baby season for breeding season, the hay field has been cut and is waiting to be baled, and the volunteer pumpkin patch has once again taken over part of the pig pasture. This year's pumpkin crop is bringing some new varieties and plenty of surprises, proving once again that pumpkins have a mind of their own.
On the less-fun side of farm life, Hugo spent part of the summer battling pneumonia and undergoing BOAS surgery. Thankfully, he's recovering well and getting back to his usual self, which is a huge relief.
I also had an incredible weekend vending at the New Jersey Sheep & Fiber Festival. The response was beyond anything I expected, and many products either sold out completely or are now running very low. I've been back in the soap room making more as quickly as I can, but handmade soap still takes time to cure. Realistically, it may be January before some of the out-of-stock favorites are fully restocked.
So if something catches your eye in this month's release, don't wait too long. Once these seasonal bars are gone, they're gone. Inspired by autumn evenings, bonfires, harvest celebrations, and just a little bit of Halloween magic, this month's lineup is cozy, bold, a little mysterious, and exactly the kind of soaps I look forward to making every year.
