World Gratitude Day

The Adelaide and Melbourne campuses recently came together to celebrate the people, moments, and little things that make a difference through the Gratitude Box Activity.

Students and staff were invited to reflect on what or who they are grateful for—whether someone who inspires and supports them or simply makes their day a little brighter. Participants shared their thoughts by writing messages on Gratitude Papers and placing them in the Gratitude Box.

Each note served as a reminder that even small acts of appreciation can create ripples of happiness, kindness, and positivity.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped fill our campuses with gratitude and positive energy.

Are You OK?

Creating a Workplace That Cares

Sometimes, a simple question can make a meaningful difference.

As employers, managers, and colleagues, we all have a role to play in creating a workplace where people feel comfortable asking—and answering—the question, “Are you OK?”

While providing a safe and healthy workplace is essential, genuine conversations and meaningful check-ins can also help people feel supported, particularly when they are going through a difficult time.

A simple question can open the door to a meaningful conversation and help create a workplace built on care, connection, and support.

Building Connections Across

AIHE and AIBT

Last week, students from the Adelaide Institute of Business and Technology (AIBT) and Adelaide Institute of Higher Education (AIHE) came together in Adelaide and Melbourne for shared lunches celebrating culture, community, and connection. Students brought food from their home countries to share with classmates and staff, creating an opportunity to learn about different cultures, build new friendships, and connect beyond the classroom. There was plenty of fun too, with a game of Hot Potato and prizes adding to the celebrations.

The gathering also highlighted the pathways available across the AEG. For AIBT students planning to progress into AIHE courses, it was an opportunity to meet students from their future study community and begin building connections early. It was wonderful to see friendships growing across AIBT and AIHE and to see our education pathways reflected not only in where our students study, but also in the community they build along the way.

Forgotten Island

AEG was proud to be the major sponsor of the special Filipino community screening of DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island, presented by UPAA-SA and FIL-ASA on 19 September 2026 at Palace Nova Prospect. Inspired by Filipino culture, mythology, and folklore, the film brings Filipino stories and voices to an international audience, featuring Filipino and Filipino-heritage talent. Among them is the legendary Lea Salonga, who made history on 4 September 2026 as the first Filipina to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in recognition of her extraordinary career in live performance. Two days later, she was also presented with the MIFF Icon Award at the Manila International Film Festival in Beverly Hills.

For AEG, supporting this event reflects our commitment to the diverse communities we serve and our belief that education and community engagement go hand in hand. As an education ecosystem bringing together people from many cultures and backgrounds, we value opportunities to celebrate heritage, strengthen connections across generations, and recognise Filipino talent and achievement on the global stage. We were delighted to support UPAA-SA and FIL-ASA in bringing the South Australian Filipino community together for a celebration of culture, storytelling, identity, and shared pride.

BNS Australia and New Zealand

Tour 2026

AEG was proud to co-sponsor the Adelaide leg of the BNS Australia and New Zealand Tour 2026, featuring Bathiya and Santhush, one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated musical acts. The concert brought together Adelaide’s vibrant Sri Lankan community for a memorable evening of music, culture, and connection. AEG also had the special opportunity to meet and greet Bathiya and Santhush the day before the concert, making our involvement in the event even more memorable.

AEG’s support reflected our commitment to engaging with the diverse communities we serve. Beyond education, we believe in building meaningful community connections, celebrating cultural diversity, and creating a genuine sense of belonging. It was a pleasure to support an event that brought people together and further strengthened AEG’s connection with Adelaide’s Sri Lankan community.

Education & Migration Fair

AEG was pleased to participate in Expert Connect 2026 – Education & Migration Fair, held on Friday, 4 September at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Being the busy man that he is, we managed to steal a few minutes with AEG President and Founder Don Chen for a quick Father’s Day Q&A. We talked about being a dad, the lessons his children have taught him, and, of course, who really is the boss at home.

AIHE Performs Above National Averages Across Key Measures in 2024–2025 SES

AIHE is proud to share the strong results achieved by our Bachelor of Business and MBA courses in the 2024–2025 Student Experience Survey (SES). The SES is a national survey that captures students’ perspectives on their higher education experience across key areas including teaching, skills development, interactions with other students, learning resources, and student support. It also provides an important benchmark for comparing AIHE’s student experience with national results.

Our Bachelor of Business achieved 92.9% for overall educational experience, compared with the national average of 76.5%. Students also rated AIHE highly for teaching practices at 93.6%, skills development at 93.3%, interactions with other students at 92.9%, and support and services at 90.4%, with all these results above their respective national averages.

Our MBA similarly recorded strong results, including 97.8% for skills development, 92.4% for teaching practices, 90.8% for support and services, and 84.2% for interactions with other students, all above their respective national averages. Overall educational experience for the MBA was 86.3%, compared with the national average of 77.3%.

These results are particularly meaningful because they reflect the voices and experiences of our students. They affirm AIHE’s continuing focus on quality teaching, practical and career-relevant skills development, meaningful student engagement, and strong academic and pastoral support. The SES also provides valuable insights into areas where we can continue to improve, and we remain committed to listening to our students and strengthening their experience as AIHE continues to grow across Adelaide and Melbourne.

Your Wellbeing Matters

At AIHE, student success is about more than academic achievement. We recognise that the demands of study, work, relationships, living away from home, and adjusting to change can sometimes feel overwhelming. That is why confidential wellbeing support is available to our students throughout the Study Period, providing a safe and supportive space to talk when they need it.

Whether it is managing stress and study pressures, navigating life changes, dealing with homesickness or isolation, building confidence, or simply needing someone to talk to, support is available. Looking after wellbeing is an important part of the student journey, and at AIHE, we want our students to know that they do not have to navigate every challenge on their own.

Academic Integrity Workshop: AI at Work

Blair Murphy, Founder and Co-CEO of Sequential, recently delivered the “AI at Work: Practical Applications for Business Productivity” workshop, sharing practical insights into how AI is being used in real-world business environments.

The session explored how AI has evolved beyond content generation to support activities such as prototyping, communication, knowledge management, workflow automation, product management, and software development.

A key focus was the importance of providing AI with relevant business context and maintaining human judgement and oversight. Through practical examples, Blair demonstrated how AI can help improve productivity while people remain responsible for reviewing and approving AI-generated work.

The workshop encouraged participants to start with small, repetitive tasks, clearly document processes, and experiment with practical AI-supported solutions that can be refined over time.

The session was attended by AIHE MBA, Graduate Certificate in Management (GCM), and Bachelor of Business students, as well as AIHE staff, providing valuable insights into the thoughtful and productive use of AI in contemporary workplaces.

From Business Model to Enterprise Reality: Innovation, Digital Technology and AI in Action

Turning business ideas into enterprise reality requires more than a good strategy. It requires the right capabilities, technology, governance, risk management, and leadership to move from concept to execution.

AIHE was pleased to welcome Steven White as a guest speaker for an industry-focused session, “From Business Model to Enterprise Reality: Innovation, Digital Technology and AI in Action.” The session explored how innovation and digital technologies are implemented within complex organisations, with particular attention to the growing role of AI and why enterprise adoption requires a very different approach from personal use.

Thank you, Steven, for sharing your industry experience and practical insights with our Adelaide and Melbourne students. We also thank Dr Diego Domínguez Mejía, Course Coordinator, Bachelor of Business, and Mustafa Kadir, ACS (Australian Computer Society) SA Branch Executive Chair, for their support in organising and facilitating the session and creating opportunities for our students to connect their academic learning with contemporary industry practice.

Beyond the Chatbot: Strategic Leadership and Value Creation with Microsoft Copilot

“AI adoption is not a technology project. It is a leadership, capability, and governance challenge.”

This was a key message from AIHE’s recent session, “Beyond the Chatbot: Strategic Leadership and Value Creation with Microsoft Copilot,” hosted by Dr Nick Hadjinicolaou, for AIHE's Adelaide and Melbourne students. Our guest speaker, Daniel Brown, MVP for Copilot and Azure AI Foundry, shared practical insights into moving beyond simply using AI towards creating genuine organisational value.

The session explored how successful AI adoption starts with real business problems and requires strong data governance, responsible use, change management, and human accountability. A striking example showed how an AI-enabled solution reduced a four-to-six-week review process to approximately six hours, while retaining human oversight.

Daniel also encouraged our MBA students to “get yourself involved” in industry associations, special interest groups, communities of practice, and professional networks. Thank you to Daniel for sharing his expertise and to Dr Nick Hadjinicolaou for facilitating this valuable industry engagement.
