He's a Prince of Hell.
A literal demon of disorder.
And as of ten minutes ago, he’s living inside my head.
I’m Ash Holland—fire witch, reluctant heir to a cursed bloodline, and the only person in Salem who tattoos protective sigils on the people who actually know how to fight.
I’m supposed to be the "Ink Master," a librarian of magic who stays behind the safety of the stacks. But my magic has always been erratic, and my latest "accident" is a catastrophe of biblical proportions.
I’ve summoned Chaos. Not the concept—the man. Or rather, the Prince of Hell.
Now, Chaos is whispering dark promises in my ear, threatening to hijack my body, and making it impossible to think straight when he starts to flirt. I have exactly fourteen days to exorcise him, or he takes full control and I’m erased forever.
But when a monster uprising threatens to burn Salem to the ground, the only way to save my city might be to let the demon in my head take the wheel.
He’s dangerous. He’s charming. And he’s the only thing standing between me and certain death.

My 5 Star Review
Chaos and Ash is the first book in the Fire Witches of Salem series. It is currently $5.99 for the Kindle e-book and $7.99 for the paperback from Amazon.
This is the perfect book to read for Fall + Halloween! It’s all about witches, demons, and fae creatures. It’s set in Salem. And it’s light fantasy that won’t give you nightmares.
Although Ash is a fire witch, her powers are limited, and she mostly relies on tattoos with magical properties and potions. She also makes a lot of mistakes and is insecure. She feels she is less than her sisters because their powers are so much greater and better controlled. When her erratic magic brings the demon Chaos to live inside her and begin bonding with her, she’s in trouble.
Chaos was imprisoned across the veil in darkness for centuries since a witch vanquished him and his brothers and hid their skulls. When Ash accidentally brings him inside herself, he takes his hatred for witches and fury at imprisonment out on her.
He’s arrogant, demanding, and selfish, but he has a dry sense of humor and resists the temptation to complete their bond and take over her body which would destroy her. While he wants to find his skull and become free rather than harm Ash, the spell works toward completing the bond and he can only delay the process not stop it.
Meanwhile, many other problems are cropping up. There’s a nest of vampires, a rift in the boundary between the worlds, and missing people including Ash’s parents and sister who may all be dead.
The author does an excellent job of setting up plenty of conflicts for the series to keep the reader interested while resolving Ash and Chaos’ dilemma by the end of the book, so it does not end on a cliff-hanger.
The novel is an enjoyable 240 pages with little if any swearing, no sex, no graphic violence, and well-drawn characters. There’s also no romance, but some simmering attraction, and hints of the romance to come. Overall, it’s fun but not dark urban fantasy.
