Hope everyone is having an enjoyable Labor Day holiday weekend.
We have reached the final week of the season. Where has the time gone? The 2nd Half is now finished. No weather postponements this half and only one all year! We hope our run of good luck will last one more week. The forecast doesn't look great. More info about all that below.
The team of Eric S / Jared B / Ryan M held on to their lead and finished as 2nd Half Champs. They will take on Dan F / Brian N in the League Championship match. Everyone else will participate in a scramble. All the details below.
Hopefully everyone is able to stay for the trophy presentation and scramble results. We should have prizes for everyone. There should be enough money in the mulligan fund for some more pizza this week. We'll see if the bar is able to make them. If not, maybe we'll have some at another place after handing out prizes. We'll see what happens. |

Sorry for the trouble with the pizzas this past week. We've had issues in the past with the bar not having the grill open early in the season and at the end. Now, their website said they had pizza so I didn't worry about it. Seems the individual responsible for that called in sick last Tues which caused the issues.
There should be enough money in the mulligan fund to have more pizza this week. Hopefully enough for everyone. I did give them a heads up last week and they said there should be pepperoni and sausage pizza available. We'll see. If not, we could have some pizza at another establishment after we finish up. |

| | As of sending this out on Sun, the current forecast for Tues is a chance of showers with thunderstorms also possible after 4pm. That's not ideal. Hopefully it will hold out and we get everything in. If not, please let me know if we should try to move everything to the following week. I will try to talk with as many at the course as I can if we are there. Hopefully the course can accommodate us. Otherwise, the championship match will figure out a time to play, etc. |

Championship Match The 1st and 2nd Half Winners will play a Championship match. They will likely be the last group out.
The rest of the league will play a 2-Person Scramble - Best Ball. Any regular league member or sub is eligible to participate. 2-Person teams - You can select any league member (regular or sub) as your partner $5 per person entry fee (pay in the pub after) The group handicap will be your total handicaps divided by 4, rounded to the nearest number. 3-Person Team - The group handicap will be the total of the three golfers divided by 8 unless the League Manager has approved another handicap. Breakfast Ball and one team mulligan are available. Payable after. We will pay out a % of the total event entry fee for low net scores based on the number of golfers. Full details are in the rules. Hole prizes will be awarded for: Back Nine Hole #12 closest to the pin - 1st shot Hole #14 longest drive in fairway Hole #17 longest putt on green
All prizes and winnings will be calculated and awarded in the Pub after golf. If you would rather just play a practice round with your full set of clubs, and skip the tourney, that’s OK, come on out and enjoy a round.

| | Some have expressed interest in giving curling a try and/or coming on down to the club during the season to watch. Both are excellent ideas and happy to provide more info!
For those interested in giving it a try we usually host a couple "Learn to Curl" sessions just before our season starts. That should be the end of Oct. I will try to send something out to the league. The club's Facebook page should have the info as well - Link.
During the season, which is Nov-March, the public is welcome to come and watch. We also have a bar with tap beer along with many selections in cans as well. Our main leagues play at 5:45 and 8:00 pm M-Th. Pretty much every night someone from the golf league is likely playing. I'm happy to try to set up a day for us to try to get together. |

| | If you are playing your round at a different time, please send your opponent (and me) a picture of your scorecard. Appreciate those that have done so already this season. I would not give it to anyone working in the pub for they have been misplaced in the past. There is a bulletin board as you enter the pub from the pro shop that has our Schedule & Standings sheet. Feel free to slip your scorecard into that holder. There used to be a folder to place cards into, but it seems that was removed after last season.
FYI - It seems that if you try to play only the Back Nine on the weekend, the course permits that one weekend a month. Please be aware of that, or plan to play 18 that day. |
